Man (40) from Epe also arrested after throwing a smoke pot on the Zandvoort circuit formula 1

A 40-year-old man from Epe was arrested on Saturday at the Zandvoort circuit. He threw a smoke pot on the grounds around the circuit, police confirm. The man is still a suspect.

The smoke pot of the Epenaar ended up on a chair along the circuit. He was subsequently arrested for vandalism. He was released after questioning. In the short term, the man will be told whether he will be prosecuted.

In addition to the Epenaar, a man from Borne was also arrested this weekend for misconduct on the circuit in Zandvoort. This man threw an orange torch onto the track, halting qualifying. Incidentally, the man from Borne and the man from Epe had nothing to do with each other.

‘Extremely stupid’

World champion Max Verstappen denounced the action of the man from Borne. He called it dangerous. “It is very stupid to throw something like that on the track. They caught him quickly and that’s a good thing.” The driver likes to see the plumes of smoke, but only to a limited extent and in the stands.
