On a schoolyard at the Boekenstein in Heiloo, 40-year-old Remco H. harassed three seven-year-old boys. He showed them his genitals and showed them sexual videos. Then two of the three children were groped by him. It later turned out that he also had child pornography.
Pedophilic disorder
The man had already been convicted in 2009 for a sex crime involving children. He was then given a TBS with compulsory treatment. The man appears to have a pedophilic disorder, which means that his actions are attributed to him in a diminished manner, the judge says.
At the time he was harassing the children, the man was living in an assisted living facility and was occasionally on leave. It was during one of those engagements that he made another mistake. To prevent this from happening again, the judge wants him to be treated again in a closed TBS clinic.
Second TBS treatment
After his arrest, all his engagements were revoked. The man is in custody and will not be released anytime soon, the judge emphasizes. “A second treatment attempt will soon be made in another forensic clinic.”
For assaulting the children, H. receives a two-year suspended prison sentence, with a probationary period of three years. He must also pay compensation to the boys.
