Man (35) and woman (61) from Sittard arrested for involvement in the death of Andy de Heus | Inland

Last June, the Public Prosecution Service reported that the appeal in the case surrounding the murder of Andy de Heus has been postponed. The reason for the postponement was to conduct additional investigations, after indications that in addition to the main suspect Ronnie S. (54) from Sittard, someone else may have been involved in the killing of De Heus.

In the past, the detectives have investigated these indications. This led to two new arrests on Tuesday. A 35-year-old detainee from Sittard was arrested in the prison in Roermond.

Arrested before

A 61-year-old woman was arrested in Sittard. This woman was arrested in this case earlier in 2016. She was not summoned at the time, but has always remained a suspect. She has now been re-arrested because of new clues.

In the coming days, both persons and any witnesses will be questioned by the police. In the interest of the investigation, no further announcements are made at this time, also because all restrictions have been imposed on both suspects.

shot dead

Ronnie S. previously confessed that he shot his friend and business partner Andy de Heus on December 18, 2012 with five bullets from two different weapons. That happened at the Porta Isola holiday park in Stevensweert. The two argued over a cannabis plantation. The body of De Heus was exhumed almost four years later, after a tip, at a fish pond in Stevensweert.

Justice last year in court demanded a life sentence against S. However, the court went less far, and sentenced the man to seventeen years in prison for manslaughter, possession of weapons and hiding the remains. The verdict prompted the court to appeal.
