A 19-year-old man from Groningen died last night in the accident on Borgerderstraat near Nooitgedacht, the police reported on X. The driver of the car, also a 19-year-old man from Groningen, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
A third occupant was injured and taken to hospital.
The police investigation is ongoing. The road between Rolde and Papenvoort was temporarily closed for investigation and assistance.
