Malware has been detected in the additional content of the hugely popular Minecraft game. These are spread in the additional content made for the Windows and Linux versions of the game, of which there are more than twenty.

Additional content infected with malware has been spreading since April. The publishers have currently removed those contents.

According to Yle the malware has spread to add-ons presumably through a data breach. With the help of malware, its administrator can, for example, steal user credentials from the device.

Contaminated add-ons

There is no malware in the console version of the game. Prism Launcer recommends that all passwords on infected machines be changed as soon as possible and that infected files be processed with security software.
