Maloja appoints new managing director – founders initiate generational change

The Chiemgau sports goods manufacturer Maloja is preparing for a generation change and appoints Bernd Eisenbichler to the management board.

Eisenbichler, who was previously sporting director in the field of biathlon at the German Ski Association, will take over his new position in June, Maloja announced on Monday. First, he will support the founders Peter Räuber and Klaus Haas in the management of the company until he takes over the sole management in autumn 2023.

“In Bernd Eisenbichler, we have found a strong personality who fits our brand very well,” said the founders, who already worked with Eisenbichler in 2018 as part of a sponsorship. Born in Chiemgau, he was Chief of Sport at the US Biathlon Association at the time. In this role, he convinced Maloja to become a clothing sponsor for US biathletes.

Maloja Clothing GmbH was founded in 2004 by Klaus Haas and Peter Räube, who remain in the company as shareholders. Maloja is based in Rimsting am Chiemsee and employs 49 people. These include employees who have been “very well” built up in recent years and “who are willing to take on responsibility at the second management level,” said Räuber and Haas in a statement.
