New Year’s Eve 2020. Teenage sisters Malak and Leen write down their most negative moments of the year on a note and then burn it together. Leen cannot believe her eyes when she reads what her sister writes: she appears to have been sexually abused for a year and a half by her foster mother (53) and her partner (63) in Beringen, Limburg. The couple was convicted at the beginning of this month, but disappeared without a trace.
