27-year-old Malachi Flynn, who joined Bahçeşehir College before the 2025-2026 season, became a Turkish citizen.
The 185 cm tall point guard, who was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 29th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and played in the NBA and NBA G League teams until the day he transferred to Bahçeşehir College, will also play for the national team with Bahçeşehir College if he gets the chance.
Flynn, who played in all 16 matches of Bahçeşehir College in the BKT EuroCup in the 2025-2026 season; He averaged 17.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 steals in these matches. The player continued his successful performance in the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League; He impressed with the statistics of 16.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals in the 16 games he played in the league so far.

Speaking after becoming a Turkish citizen, Flynn said, “I am very happy to have the opportunity to represent Türkiye. Representing a country is always a great opportunity and responsibility, but at the same time, it is an honor for me that Türkiye paved the way for me to do this. I am ready to wear the National Team jersey and take the field.”
Stating that he knows many players in the team, the 27-year-old player said, “We have been playing together with Kenan Sipahi and Furkan Haltalı since the beginning of the season, and I played against some of the other players and had the chance to watch some of them. I am excited to come together with the team and get victories together.”
