A spokesperson for the Kennemerland Safety Region says that around 5:30 p.m. a report was made of a person who went swimming in the puddle and subsequently did not return home. Clothing was then found on the side of the water.
Many emergency services then went to the lake to look for the swimmer, including specialized divers from the fire brigade. There was also a police helicopter hovering above the Molenplas for a while.
Strong current
Emergency services were still busy with the search around 7:15 p.m. The spokesperson emphasizes that there is a strong current in the water.
The police say that the missing person has not yet been found. A spokesperson says the search continues.
