Traffic on the A28 near Meppel is at a standstill in a southerly direction. Rijkswaterstaat is carrying out an emergency repair between the Lankhorst and Staphorst junction. That is why two of the three lanes in the direction of Zwolle are temporarily closed.
Rijkswaterstaat expects the work to last all day. The road needs to be repaired because holes have appeared in the asphalt. This is due to a combination of recent frost and wear and tear.
Road users must take into account significant inconvenience and even more than an hour of extra travel time during rush hour. Diversion routes are indicated by signs.
