Madrid prepares to say goodbye to Marisa Paredes in the burning chapel of the Spanish Theater

Cuando era niña, Marisa Paredes miraba al Teatro Español y pensaba: “Ahí dentro pasan otras cosas. Ahí se visten de otras cosas y ahí la realidad es otra, se vive otro tiempo […] I want to be there“. The actress remembered it in an interview for Collective Memory of Spanish Cinemaa project of the Film Academy conceived to preserve the testimonies of the main protagonists of the history of that art in our country, confessions and memories destined to remain very alive when they are no longer here. Now, to everyone’s sadness, Marisa Paredes is no longer here, and those words are going to resonate very strongly when, this Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 12 noon, numerous colleagues, friends or simple fans come to give her a last goodbye in that theater that inoculated the virus of acting in an unrepeatable actressjust a few steps from her house, when she was a post-war teenager, daughter of a humble family, who dreamed of living a better life than the one she had been given.
