“Leave me the fuck alone,” he says to the man who runs towards him on the stage.
At the Forbes’ Under 30 Summit, Machine Gun Kelly actually wanted to talk about his own business, but in the middle of his speech he was interrupted by a man rushing up. He had passed security and was about to run towards the 33-year-old musician when he jumped up from his seat with clenched fists and tried to stop him with words. “Leave me the fuck alone,” said Colson Baker, aka Machine Gun Kelly, to the man.
Machine Gun Kelly was invited to the conference in Cleveland, Ohio, to talk, among other things, about the development of his own café, 27 Club Coffee, which is also based in Cleveland.
The recordings from the event mainly show the moment in which the unknown climbed the stage and headed towards the artist, who continued to say: “What are you doing? This looks bad. Don’t make me do that.” What exactly Baker means by his statement remains unclear. In each case, the man stopped and gestured in a way that made it seem like he didn’t want to hurt the musician. He was then removed from the event by the security team. It is currently not clear whether a lawsuit will be filed against the unknown Machine Gun Kelly or the organizer.
After calm had returned to the stage, Baker apologized to the audience for his thoughtless reaction, but received particular encouragement from them for his handling of the confusing situation.
