By mid -September, the Portuguese must not enter the changing room of its team on match days.
The incident occurred last Sunday in the 2-1 win against Stade Brest. Fonseca had lost control against himself after a red card after a red card and referred to referee Benoit Millot up close. The referee later told the “L’équipe” that the coach wanted to “intimidate him” and even hinted at a blow or head button. Such an aggressive reaction is hardly imaginable for a trainer. Fonseca admitted after the game: “I shouldn’t have done that, that’s true.”
Lyon had turned the game after deficiency, but in added time, a possible penalty checked for Brest with the help of the Var. A penalty was not given, but Fonseca reacted angrily. The 52-year-old only took over the club at the end of January and has won three out of five games since then. Lyon is in sixth place in the table.
