Luuk Ikink warns Princess Amalia: the future queen of our country should not expect the same treatment as TV queen Linda de Mol. “We are going to become more critical.”
It is funny: if you say something about Linda de Mol in RTL Boulevard, Albert Verlinde’s niece – she is the editor-in-chief there – immediately starts cutting furiously, but our future queen Amalia does not have that privilege. She receives a strong warning from the program: Luuk Ikink threatens with a more critical attitude.
1.6 million euros
Luuk points out that Amalia will cash in big time. “Amalia is now actually going to start her own office. That’s what she gets, right? She also receives money to start that up and of course she needs people for that,” he says in the show section on RTL 4.
Royalty expert Jeroen quickly added: “Yes, she gets 1.6 million and then she can start an office, staff and material costs. From now on she can declare her outfits and no longer have to borrow them from Máxima. It becomes very personal.”
More criticism
Luuk then threatens with a more critical attitude. “It seems to me that it is for her too… You make that decision to do that and accept that, but that also means that we can also be a little more critical of her when things go wrong and so on, because you take simply takes money from the citizens.”
Jeroen: “Yes, we can expect something in return. On the other hand, she will leave the €3.500,000 that is her personal allowance as long as she studies, so that means that she is slightly less obliged to actually make an appearance.”
Working visit
If it were up to Jeroen, Amalia couldn’t make enough of an appearance. “She says herself: ‘If your studies allow it, you will see me more.’ I am curious about next year, because at first I thought: she is going to make working visits.”
“But maybe she will continue her studio with a master’s degree and then she will be able to continue for another two years, because her current study will continue next summer. (…) I hope to have a nice work visit here and there, even if only during the summer holidays, because that is of course another nice item for RTL Boulevard.”
