Luuk Ikink still does not distance himself from the bizarre censorship action of the editor-in-chief of RTL Boulevard, who cut a critical comment about Linda de Mol from the show. “Business!”
The image of RTL Boulevard was under extreme pressure years ago when their cheating colleague Humberto Tan was given a very ostentatious hand over the head. The makers promised improvement, but recently things went wrong again: now that Linda de Mol is returning to RTL, a critical comment about her was immediately cut from the program.
‘That’s how it was!’
Rob Goossens shouted that Linda must answer for ‘the fact that she apparently knew for some time that he (her sweetheart Jeroen Rietbergen, ed.) had misbehaved behind the scenes at The Voice’. There is no lie about that because Jeroen himself said this in the media, Johan Derksen agreed. “That’s how it was, wasn’t it?”
Albert Verlinde’s niece is the boss of RTL Boulevard and decided to brush off Rob’s comment and to the great shock of critics such as Angela de Jong and Catherine Keyl, they never seriously took responsibility for this. How does Luuk Ikink, the figurehead of RTL Boulevard, view it? He is a guest in the New Year’s Eve special Dear Viewers and is confronted with a silly fragment of him. “Can’t you have this cut out afterwards?” Tijl Beckand calls teasingly.
Luuk: “Hahahaha. Yes, it could have been done. Bad experiences, but yes.”
Ruben Nicolai: “Can you explain that briefly at the last minute of 2024? What went wrong there?”
‘Why now?’
Luuk immediately knows what Ruben is referring to. “You mean that cut?”
Ruben: “Yes, why did that happen?”
Luuk: “Rob had to explain that he had done something stupid and he brought in Linda de Mol and we thought, we thought: yes, what you said there is not entirely correct, you package an opinion as a fact, so we have that cut out. Yeah, that’s actually it.”
Oh well, Luuk just seems to support Albert’s censoring niece. Very weak.
Trouble
Ruben thinks it is a clumsy action. “That has caused more misery.”
Luuk: “Yes, we thought: it distracts from the story, but yes, that caused us quite a bit of hassle later, of course, but yes, you have that sometimes. Yes, you decide things sometimes, don’t you?”
Tijl jokes: “Can I just say one more thing about that? Because when you look at Linda… Hey, has a cut been made here?! Is this another cut?!”
