Luuk Ikink does not think that Eva Jinek will be dumped by RTL 4

Luuk Ikink does not think that Eva Jinek will be dumped by RTL 4 now that her viewing figures are under pressure and her contract is about to expire. “I think they will extend for at least one year.”

Eva Jinek is pregnant, is going on maternity leave this year and in the meantime also has to negotiate her new TV contract with RTL 4. Friend and foe agree that 1.2 million euros a year is no longer possible now that she has reached the sky-high expectations have not been met. She often makes the least watched talk show of the night.

Lesson learned

What do the media connoisseurs of RTL Boulevard think of it? Rob Goossens, who was accused of shoddy work by Eva a few years ago after speculating about her second pregnancy, says in The BLVD Podcast: “You understand that I never dare to say anything about Eva Jinek and pregnancies, right?”

Colleague Luuk Ikink: “Very good, very good Rob, very good.”

Rob: “I’ve learned my lesson. But we are very happy.”

Eva on at RTL?

The gentlemen dare to speculate about Eva’s contract extension. “What you do get right away is: yes, what about that talk show? Because she is of course, how you turn it or turn it, out of it for a while. And then we were thinking a bit and then we thought: hey, there are so many people who will soon no longer have a contract.”

He continues: “Whoever’s contract expires… That’s the case with Eva, that’s the case with a lot of people. Gordon will soon have no contract, Merel Westrik already has no contract, Wendy van Dijk will expire halfway through ’24, Linda, Humberto, Renze. The men of VI. Patty Brard started freelancing, Raven van Dorst.”

‘At least one year’

What will happen to Eva’s contract? “It seems inconceivable to me that her contract will not be extended, at least for one year. To start making that show. She then scores, unfortunately for her, not the numbers that VI scores. But even then it is still image-determining for RTL at that time. Just like Beau might be.”

Rob: “Certainly, and she brings something that her competitors cannot bring to the talk show slot, because she has, say, Nieuwsuur quality. That hard journalistic, she is the only one who has that. And of course RTL should cherish that.”

tinkering

Something needs to change in Eva’s program, Luuk thinks. “Then of course they have to tinker a bit with that talk show. Anyway, that is a completely different conversation, but that there is quality there, that is obvious.”

Eva is often accused of being on holiday so often, but, Private boss Evert Santegoeds counters in the podcast Strictly Private: “If she is there, they will let her work at RTL. Her broadcast, there is no end to it. It’s like Open Het Dorp, so long. It’s really 100 minutes or so at that table. That is two broadcasts in one day, so yes, I think Eva will get her hours.”

1.2 million euros

Presenter Jordi Versteegden to Evert: “Soon she will have to negotiate a new contract with RTL. Do you think she’s still worth the 1.2 million with the ratings at the moment?”

Evert: “I don’t know. I think that the collaboration has not turned out quite as everyone had imagined. (…) It didn’t turn out quite as I expected and as they will have expected at RTL with these kinds of salaries. But I do think it will be extended one way or another.”
