Love Stories and Tess van Zalinge transform wedding dresses and veils into underwear

Amsterdam-based lingerie label Love Stories and Dutch designer Tess van Zalinge transform upcycled wedding dresses and vintage veils into lingerie.

Together, the two Dutch brands are reinterpreting Love Stories’ “Lola” briefs, Love Stories announced on Wednesday. The limited edition of 100 briefs is made from upcycled bridal fashion and features a hand-embroidered blue label. Thus, the underwear combines two wedding traditions for brides and offers “something old” and “something blue”.

“I love the thought that our upcycled Lola knickers combine wedding heirlooms, memories and craftsmanship,” says Marloes Hoedeman, Founder and Creative Director of Love Stories. “It was inspiring to work with Tess – who has a keen awareness of her craft – and to celebrate sustainability in underwear.”

Also based in Amsterdam, Tess van Zalinge is known for her feminine, handcrafted designs made from vintage materials and leftovers. Her creations seek to unite and preserve stories, memories and craftsmanship that are often forgotten.
