Lost during a move or never returned. The reasons why poetry albums have been lost are numerous, and they all happen on Patt van der Kuijl’s Facebook page.

Gift from heaven

Patt started the group because she is looking for two lost copies of herself. “A shiny purple one with ‘poesie’ in gold letters on it. The other is red, and you could put a card in it on the front.” The books became obsolete after they were given to friends of her parents from Rotterdam, sometime in the early 1980s.

The booklets have great emotional value for Patt. “It contains written poems from people who are no longer there, and if you get that back it is a gift from heaven.”

Trade on Marktplaats

The page now has hundreds of members and there are plenty of posts, even calls from abroad. That is very special for Patt. “I thought I was the only one who lost her albums, but there are a lot of them.” But: there are not only messages on the page from people who have lost their album. Apparently lost poetry albums are a real trade.
