Lost album “Chrome Dreams” is coming

The Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young announced a new album! Or to put it better: The first release of an album that was thought lost until now. Originally “Chrome Dreams” was supposed to see the light of day in 1977, but was then forgotten due to other plans by Young. But now it will finally appear.

“Chrome Dreams” songs ended up on other records

Young first recorded the songs for Chrome Dreams in 1974-1976. At the time, it was considered to be his most powerful and personal album. However, other projects got in the way of the singer and it so happened that “Chrome Dreams” was never released.

Some of the songs, however, made it to other releases by the artist in a modified form, who likes to push the listeners to new heights with his musical experiments. An example would be “Pocahontas”, which was released in 1979 on Young’s swan song to the rock ‘n’ roll “Rust Never Sleeps”. But now, in addition to original versions of some Young classics, there will also be interpretations and rare pieces that have never been heard before on the album that has been missing for 50 years.

“Chrome Dreams” will be released on vinyl and CD on August 11th at Greedy Hand Storein the Neil Young Archives and in music stores, and digitally on most music streaming platforms (though not Spotify). If you pre-order the LP now, you can download the track “Sedan Delivery” in advance.
