620 residents had to flee their homes because of the forest fires in Treuenbrietzen (Potsdam-Mittelmark) because the fire threatened them. Now it turns out that looters came to the deserted district of Frohnsdorf to break into two apartments in an apartment building.

According to the police, however, the perpetrators failed at the locks. The police call the attempt to misuse this dramatic situation for their own purposes “contemptible”.

The residents only noticed the demolished locks on the doors on Monday morning, when the evacuations were lifted and they were allowed to return home.
