Several doors and windows of the town hall were damaged. Images shared by De Gooi- en Eemlander show that paving stones have been thrown in at the building on Rading in Loosdrecht. The spokesperson speaks of ‘serious destruction’ and says that the damage will be recovered from the perpetrators.
Last week, there were several demonstrations in Loosdrecht against a decision by the municipality of Wijdemeren to receive asylum seekers, following which, among other things, an emergency order was issued. At the end of last week, the municipality decided to reduce the number of temporary emergency shelters for asylum seekers from 110 to 70, because this is ‘better suited to the local situation’.
