In the spirit of contemporary art and modern design, Longchamp is entering into a creative collaboration with the textile artist Caroline Hélain for the first time. The interplay of sensitivity and creative curiosity creates a capsule collection of leather goods and ready-to-wear, characterized by poetic sophistication and artistic expression.
Art has always accompanied the history of Longchamp in many facets. This season, however, it comes to the fore even more – as a creative playing field between wanderlust and openness to new horizons.
With a sensitive view of her surroundings, the artist Caroline Hélain works on the connection between landscape, materiality and visual memory. At the interface of art and experiment, abstract compositions full of depth, structure and subtle color worlds are created from freely cut materials. The carefully arranged patchworks are reminiscent of organic shapes and create associations of cliffs, dunes or distant horizons – like poetic fragments of an imagined landscape.
For Longchamp, Caroline Hélain has developed nine exclusive landscapes that are characterized by a subtle, yet richly nuanced use of textures. Shapes subtly intertwine and develop a sensitive interplay of colored threads. Transposed into the savoir-faire of Longchamp, these landscapes become the basis of a capsule collection of leather goods and ready-to-wear.
In the Daylong line, the motifs unfold in finely crafted layers of leather, which are sewn with great precision and a lot of handwork in the Longchamp workshops. The two models – a mini bag and a weekender – invite you to travel and open your eyes to unknown places and new horizons.
In the knitted pieces – from sweaters to long dresses – the artist’s colorful compositions lie across the entire surface like a soft, flowing fresco, giving the designs an enveloping, almost painterly effect. A special highlight of the collection is the sleeveless top made of calf leather, which combines two noble materials and, in nuanced bouclé virgin wool tones, is reminiscent of a dune landscape under a wide, blue sky.
Caroline Hélain’s graphic landscapes can also be found on the essentials of a nomadic-inspired wardrobe. These include: silk scarves and cashmere shawls, T-shirts with a subtle motif on the breast pocket and tote bags made of cotton canvas from the Le Pliage line. The color world deliberately moves in a mineral tonality.
The individual pieces of the collaboration will be available in selected Longchamp boutiques and online from August 4, 2026.
