Due to accidents, there were long traffic jams on the motorways in and around our province on Tuesday afternoon. Especially on the A2 and A59, the delays rose to sometimes an hour. Earlier there was also a long traffic jam due to an accident on the A58.

An accident happened on the A2 around a quarter past four. There it went wrong between Utrecht and Den Bosch near Rosmalen. That is why two lanes had to be closed. The delay increased to half an hour.

Because of this accident and the traffic jam on the A2, the A59 from Waalwijk also got stuck completely towards Den Bosch. The delay between Den Bosch West and the Empel junction was an hour and there was six kilometers of standing traffic. But from a quarter past five the traffic was able to drive back normally again.

Cleaning road
It was the first to go wrong on the A58 between the Moergestel exit and the De Baars junction. At least three cars collided there and the left lane was closed for five hours. The road surface was littered with parts of the vehicles involved and oil had also ended up on the asphalt. That is why the road surface had to be cleaned.

The delay increased to an hour and at the peak there was 14 kilometers of standing traffic. Road users who had to go to Tilburg and Breda had to be advised from Eindhoven, to drive via the A2 and then to follow the A65/N65 at the Vught junction.
