Long break for Adler top scorer Plachta

The Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) also have to make do without top scorer Matthias Plachta in the midst of their serious crisis.

According to the club, the striker will be out for up to eight weeks due to a leg injury. Plachta was missing from the tenth place team in October due to an arm injury.

“Of course it’s a big blow if you’re missing your top scorer for several weeks. Matthias always brings energy to the ice and is of course an offensive weapon with his incredible shot, which also plays an important role in our power play,” said the new head coach Sports manager Dallas Eakins.

National player Plachta (32) is the best scorer for the Adler and the DEL with 15 goals and 16 assists in 24 games.

Mannheim has lost the last five games, four since the Canadian Eakins was hired.
