MovieThe news that there will be a movie about the ‘The Hunger Games’ prequel was announced in August 2021. Meanwhile, the film has finally been given a release date. The film adaptation of ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ is expected to hit theaters in November 2023.

Lionsgate, the film studio behind the print, revealed the release date last Thursday during their presentation at CinemaCon. Good news for fans of ‘The Hunger Games’, because the filming of the prequel has been a long time coming. Fortunately, the makers are not testing our patience for too much longer. ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ is expected to hit theaters on November 17, 2023. The film will be based on the book of the same name, which will be published in 2020, by Suzanne Collins.

Coriolanus Snow

The film’s story revolves around Coriolanus Snow. The latter is currently not yet the dreaded president of Panem, but an 18-year-old boy. However, he has a not-so-pleasant task ahead of him. Snow is in fact a mentor in the tenth edition of the so-called Hunger Games. His tribute is the girl from District 12.

Details about the cast are not yet available. Francis Lawrence, the director of the last three ‘Hunger Games’ films, will also now direct. The original films could already count on a well-known cast. For example, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth played in the films. The first three ‘Hunger Games’ films were also a huge success. They raised around 2.5 billion euros worldwide.
