London fashion shows, the Autumn Winter 2023 2024 calendar

LNew York Fashion Week is winding down and all the spotlights are already on London. The calendar of fashion shows Autumn-Winter 2023/2024 sees take the field, from 17 to 2 February, UK fashion with over 100 events. And if the appointment with the men’s shows is now just a memory, the womenswear shows of the British Fashion Council are preparing to welcome increasingly unisex proposals.

There will be twists and turns, thanks to some new debuts and the return to the scene of the old recruits: from Burberry to JW Andersonup to the exception – all Italian – of Moncler.

Eyes on Burberry

The new edition of the London 2023 fashion shows features the most English maison there is: Burberry. Following the farewell of Riccardo Tisci after five years as creative director of the English fashion house, now it’s up to Daniel Lee, ex Bottega Veneta, guide the brand towards new horizons. First moves, shared on Instagram? A new logo that goes back to its origins, that equestrian knight dating back to 1901 with the distinctive motto Prorsum – “After you!”.

But also the campaign shots they replace all old posts on the brand’s Instagram pageand welcome faces like Shygirl (rappers), Raheem Sterling (soccer player), Vanessa Redgrave (actress), Lennon Gallagher (model and son of Liam Gallagher of the English band Oasis), taken by Tyrone Lebon. And then the regular, Irina Shaykwhich needs no introduction.

Moncler flies to London

The show marking Lee’s debut as creative director will be staged on the evening of February 20th, at the close of London Fashion Week and within the official calendar – unlike the Tisci era, who has always preferred to show off schedule, including the last show delayed out of respect for Queen Elizabeth’s death. And for that date, there is another unmissable appointment to mark on your agenda: the event at Olympia London which kicks off the evolution of Moncler Genius, which from a universe of collaborations becomes a platform for co-creation between different sectors, incorporating design, culture, art, sport. special guests, Alicia Keys And Pharrell Williamsbeyond Rick Owensprotagonist of the co-lab Moncler + Rick Owens.

The shows not to be missed, between big and emerging

Other names to keep an eye out for? Kicking off the London fashion show season will be Paul Costelloe on February 17; February 18 will be the day of Richard Quinnwhile on the 19th Nensi Dojaka, multi-award-winning child prodigy of the LFW, and JW Anderson.

In between, the other big names, da Christopher Kane to Erdemfrom Molly Goddard to Roksanda to Simon Rocha. Among the new recruits, the winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Designers stands out, Steven Stokey-Daley, who will present his collection on the catwalk on February 19th. But also Yuzefi, the accessories brand created by Naza Yousefi in 2016, which will show its first collection on the catwalk on February 20th. Other new entry: Harri, Edeline Lee, Sjoon, Susan Fang, Saul Nash.

The defections of the London 2023 fashion shows

Some names that have come up at LFW in the past few seasons fly by. The case of KNWLS extension, Stephen Cooke, Rejina Pyo, Supriya Lele And Girl Posters: Will we see them again in Paris? Or will they be presenting outside the London 2023 show calendar?

LFW FW23/24, the collateral events

For this edition, BFC also presents some extra highlights. First, the ukraine fashion weekwhich will present three designers in a single fashion show as part of Support Ukrainian Fashion: Frolov, Kseniaschnaider And Paskal. The 30th anniversary of BFC NEWGEN will be celebrated for an entire year starting from the London fashion shows, with an expanded show space at the Old Selfridges Hotel: various emerging brands on stage, including the Italian of origins, but born in Wales, Paul Carzana. Will it have the same success as the late Lee Alexander McQueen, who took his first steps precisely in the context of this side event?

How to see the LFW FW23/24 fashion shows

The LFW still promises to be, in part, digital. For this reason, the central format for seeing and following the 2023 fashion shows remains there online platform divided by brand and events, also accessible to the non-expert public. All the major brands will use their social channels to launch shows in streaming.
