Lola Young collapsed on stage in 2025 and spent two months in a health facility. Now she speaks openly about her drug withdrawal and the comeback.

Lola Young has spoken publicly about her rehab and health following the September 2025 collapse. The 24-year-old collapsed on stage at the “All Things Go” festival in New York. As a result, she canceled her tour and took a break.

Dealing openly with dependency

After the incident, it quickly became clear that the singer had collapsed at the festival due to drug problems. Young had already been open about her cocaine addiction before the collapse. According to “The Times UK”, she is said to have already been in withdrawal twice. She recorded her album “I’m Only Fucking Myself” in 2024 after a five-week detox program. Another setback followed in September 2025.

Two months in a health facility

In an interview with Rolling Stone, she said that as a result of the collapse, she was admitted to a holistic health facility for two months and attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. “I’m very grateful that it happened because it was something of a turning point that allowed me to be here today, to be better for my fans, better for the future and better for myself.”

Recovery as an ongoing process

She spoke again to the Sunday Times about her withdrawal and made it clear that it was an ongoing process. “I think I’d rather not say too much about it for privacy reasons. But I can say that recovery is an ongoing process. I’m not there yet, but I’m feeling much better.” Young also emphasized how important it is to be aware in such moments that you are not alone.

She also clarified that her recovery was a drug withdrawal. “It was a decision… that I had to make, and it was sad that I had to do that. What else was I supposed to do, die? That was the reality of what my addiction boiled down to.”

Grammy performance and Brit Awards

She recently made her first appearance since the incident. She was back on stage at the Grammys and also won an award. She was also nominated at the Brit Awards and won in the “Breakthrough Artist” category.

Message to the fans

The singer also reached out to her fans and wrote that the six months had brought everything to a standstill for her. She first had to take care of herself, take a break and rethink her career. She was also afraid that everything would be over after the break. At the same time, she is happy to know that she can still take time for herself if she is not feeling well, but can also come back afterwards. “I love you and can’t wait to release new music and continue this journey with you by my side,” she thanked her fans.

Comeback in June

She plays four shows in the UK in June. She explained that she was now able to do it again – because she was now paying more attention to herself and taking things more slowly.
