The 1996 Miss Finland Lola Odusoga was not surprised by what kind of comments the Miss Finland selection aroused.
According to Lola Odusoga, the discussion around fresh Miss Finland tells about the racist atmosphere of Finland. Evening leaf
“When you have looked at this development of our modern Finland and those attitudes that are accepted by the government, I would have been surprised by hell, if there had been something of a hub,” commented Miss Finland Lola Odusoga in 1996.
He is tired of the conversation that the choice of fresh Miss Finland once again raised. Yesterday Saturday, Miss Finland’s crown was pressed from Kuopio but today living in Helsinki Sarah Dzafce22.
After the selection, there was a debate about Dzafce’s background. While many annoyed the choice of Dzafce, some of the people from a multicultural background could be represented by Miss Finland.
– They can be their own mind and wonder if a multicultural person is suitable for representing Finland, but I am Miss Finland 2025 and my mother is from Finland and my father from Kosovo. I have nothing else to say about it, Dzafce said to his skeptics concisely.
– He is by no means the first. They wanted some or not, so Finland today is a more international country and there are people here in different genes and places. It’s normal, Odusoga recalls.
In addition to Odusoga himself and Dzafce, the title of Miss Finland over the years has been the subject of many people whose parents were not born in Finland. These include Shirly Karvinen, Sara Chafak and Alina Voronkova.
A similar debate is familiar to Odusoga, and he once experienced the attitudes in the 1990s against his face.

– It is really terrible to look again at being a new person who will make hundreds of thousands of comments on how you are wrong and you are not good. It’s realistically awful shit.
She also highlights the Lucia-selected Lucia maid last winter Daniela owusun encountered with racism.
– Nothing surprises. Currently, there is only such a racist atmosphere in Finland. This is rough to watch, but tells about this today’s Finland. After all, it is said that from the top it flows down. What the government ahead is that the others followed, because we see that this is properly allowed and accepted.
Racism has been around for decades, but Odusoga recognizes the change in the debate. He tells how, for example, in the 90s it seemed to be “fear of the unknown”. People did not necessarily know people with a different ethnic background. Nowadays, according to Odusoga, one bad example stamps the whole community.
– Then they are accused of their own bad situation and poor well -being, especially those who have come from somewhere else or were born in Finland and whose parents or parents of the parents were born somewhere else.

– Finns seem to accept only ethnically different people when they are named and prizes from the world.
“I hope Sarah is smart and can let these go straight out of the other ear,” Odusoga concludes.
Unfortunately, Sunneva Sjögren, CEO of the Miss Finland competition, was also able to guess that Miss Finland’s background will again arouse debate.
– It is extremely sad that you even need to discuss such a thing. Sarah is a magnificent Finnish woman and goes to represent Finland.
– It would have to understand people that positive communication, acceptance of people, peace and love are the most important thing in this world.

Participants in the Miss Finland competition will be trained for performing and catwalks as well as mentally.
– More Than Beauty Academy is a very unique training package because we also start to strengthen our self -esteem and find those people’s values and missions. It is unfortunate that you have to be prepared for people’s mischief, Sjögren says.
– I believe Sarah is extremely ready for Miss Finland. He knows himself and is really positive. No one should be ready for people to start bullying or barking.
Sjögren knows that when he pops up, he is exposed to many opinions.
– Heart education is something that one cannot buy. Unfortunately it is either or not. The one who falls to bark at others has to go look in the mirror. It is extremely sad and in no way acceptable.
