Gaming is intended for everyone, but in the past there haven’t been very many options for female players or players with smaller hands, for example on the mouse side. Among other things, Logitech has set out to solve this problem with its colorful range of peripherals.

Logitech recently introduced the Aurora Collection product family, which includes the G735 headset, the G705 wireless mouse, and the G713 wired keyboard and the G715 wireless keyboard. The set also includes the Blue Yeti Aurora microphone in pink and white.

– The products in the selection are a response to the wishes and needs of an underrepresented group of players in a way that allows players to express themselves even better in all kinds of games, Logitech said in its press release.

We tested whether the package really offers something new, especially for female players, for whom the product family is aimed.

According to Logitech, the new 199-euro G735 gaming headset has been designed based on feedback from female gamers. Long hair, smaller head size, earrings and glasses have been taken into account when designing them.

The headphones also fit really comfortably on the undersigned’s head. The cushions are thick and due to the removable microphone, the headphones also work as everyday headphones for listening to music. The sound of the headphones is pleasant and the bass feels nice too. The headphones seem high-quality and durable. The eye-catching detail of the headphones is the LED lights in the earcups, which can be adjusted with Logitech’s G Hub program.

It’s hard to figure out how the headphones in question were developed with long hair and earrings in mind, because they don’t differ from “traditional” gaming headphones in any way. The headphones with larger earrings are not that much more comfortable than the competitors, and the length of the hair does not really affect the use of the headphones in any way compared to other headphones.

Even the EUR 199 G715 gaming keyboard does not seem to differ in any way from a traditional mechanical tenkeyless gaming keyboard based on its design. In the case of the keyboard, attention has been paid only to the color of the keyboard, i.e. it is available in white and you can get a green, pink or white surface plate and the keys separately. In addition, the cloud patterned wrist rest stands out as a detail, which may appeal to gamers.

With Logitech’s G Hub program, you can change the keyboard lights as you wish. A striking addition to the keyboard is the LED strip under its edges, the lights of which can also be adjusted to your liking.

We tested the keyboard with GX Red Linear switches and the overall feel was good. The keyboard is comfortable to play on, but also to type on due to its soft feel. However, the keyboard was disturbed by the fact that it is a bit high. Without a wrist rest, the keys stay up quite a bit, which can strain the hands. The angle of the keyboard can be adjusted to three different heights with the legs on the back.

The overall look and feel of the keyboard does not exude quality, but in the hand it still feels sturdy and durable. The white coloring can be confusing in this matter.

A positive surprise was the new 99 euro G705 gaming mouse, which is designed for really smaller palms. The mouse in question received praise in the test and felt more comfortable in a smaller hand. The mouse in question is suitable for all those with a smaller palm, because many gaming mice are really big. Although it is a gaming mouse, it is also suitable as an office mouse for those who are looking for a smaller but comfortable mouse. The mouse works with a receiver or a Bluetooth connection.

Blue’s 139 euro Yeti Aurora mic is guaranteed quality, and nothing has changed except the coloring. The new colors are a nice addition to Blue’s selection, but otherwise it is a familiar product for years. The microphone is really sturdy and durable, and it supports the Blue VO!CE software. There are many features and the software can be used via Logitech’s G Hub. Regarding the coloring of the microphone, it should also be mentioned that, unfortunately, a black cable is included, which does not go very well with the otherwise light-colored microphone.

Respond to demand

The G705 gaming mouse stood out overall, making it really easy to play. The other products differ from the mass only in their coloring and design – which is by no means a bad thing. Many are looking for more than just black and game products cast from a certain mold.

All Logitech products were united by light coloring and customizable lights. These are features that Logitech has determined that the target audience wants. It’s not about any cheap products, but in the gaming product category, the prices in question are by no means a surprise.

The tested devices do not offer new features or really anything very surprising, but the focus is clearly on their design and color scheme. There is certainly a demand for such products, so Logitech is on the right track.
