Local residents heard the police helicopter and saw the flashing lights of the emergency services on the ground. From a balcony of an apartment complex next to North station, resident Tim suddenly saw the suspect standing on the roof. “Yes, what a stunt gnome,” he describes. “Walking across the roof, delaying people. Then you’re a fool. He had done something about it, of course, and fled.”
The biggest criminal?
A resident of an adjacent complex also looked strange last night. “It almost seemed like the entire police crew was standing there,” she says. “We heard the ambulance and helicopter, so secretly you think the biggest criminal is up there.”
The situation was bizarre, the drive before was especially dangerous. Police spokesperson Wander Wagenaar: “We don’t know what kept him busy, we will also hear him about that. Then it will become clear to us why he fled from us.”
