The Liverpool team bus was pelted after the lost league match against Manchester City. According to English media, a brick was thrown through a window. No one would have been injured.
Manchester City said in a statement on its website that it was aware of the bus incident. According to City, an ‘object’ was thrown at the Liverpool bus in a residential area. “We support the investigation of Manchester police where we can,” said the club, who won 4-1 against Liverpool in front of their own audience.
With the ‘Reds’, the Orange internationals Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo were in the starting line-up. Nathan Ake played the entire game at Manchester City.
A few years ago, the Manchester City player bus in Liverpool was pelted with fireworks, stones and bottles, among other things. The European football association UEFA fined Liverpool for this.
