Liverpool legend Dalglish lays wreath for Heysel victim

Emotional moment before the Champions League final kicked off: Liverpool club icon Kenny Dalglish laid a wreath at the Paris stadium to commemorate the victims of the Heysel stadium disaster.

The 71-year-old Scot laid the wreath on the Reds club crest behind a goal to applause from the crowd.

Before the final of the previous competition, the European Cup between Liverpool and Juventus Turin, 39 people died in riots on May 29, 1985.

Liverpool meet Real Madrid in this year’s final on Saturday night. Dalglish, who spent 13 years as a player and twice as a manager at Liverpool, was part of the Reds team 37 years ago.
