Liverpool FC turns cup game – DFB jewel debuts

When team manager Jürgen Klopp returned after surviving the coronavirus infection, Liverpool FC reached the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Reds defeated the third division Shrewsbury Town 4-1 (2-1) even without numerous regulars.

Kaide Gordon (34th), Fabinho (44th, hand penalty, 90th + 3) and Roberto Firmino (79th) turned the match with their hits. Daniel Udoh (27th) had put the outsider in the lead.

Klopp had missed the top game at Chelsea (2-2) after a positive test. The league cup game at Arsenal FC scheduled for last Thursday was postponed at the request of Liverpool after several corona cases in the team and on the staff.

In the 81st minute, Melkamu Frauendorf, a German youth international, made his debut for the professionals at Liverpool FC. The 17-year-old midfield all-rounder moved from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to Anfield Road in 2020.

Champions League winners Chelsea are also in the fourth round of the FA Cup. In the 5: 1 (4: 0) against the fifth division club FC Chesterfield, national player Timo Werner scored the opening goal for the team of team manager Thomas Tuchel. Antonio Rüdiger was spared, Kai Havertz came on.

However, Arsenal FC failed. The ex-champions lost with Bernd Leno in goal at the second division Nottingham Forest with 0: 1 (0: 1).
