Liverpool defender Van Dijk warns against second game

Liverpool is far from certain of reaching the final after the (2-0) victory over Villarreal in the first game of the semi-final of the Champions League. “We still have to go to Spain,” said defender Virgil van Dijk. “We know it’s going to be tough. It’s not played yet.”

He was satisfied with the game at Anfield. “I don’t think we gave away a single chance. That says a lot. We put a lot of pressure in attacking terms. Initially, that did not result in goals, but luckily we remained patient. After the resumption, we were rewarded for our good game.”

Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld, the Dutch attacker of Villarreal, did not want to give up yet. “We were not at our best today. But at home we are going to give everything to make up for this deficit. We still believe in it. This was a disappointing result, but we know Liverpool are very good. The pressure has become too much for us here. . That too can happen.”
