updateThe province of West Flanders in particular had to deal with fierce thunderstorms. The RMI had declared code orange for thunderstorms for all Flemish provinces, except Limburg. The emergency number 1722 for storm and water damage was also activated. In general, the flooding was not too bad, although it also rained cats and dogs in Laken, where our royal family received it from the Netherlands.

Tomorrow it will be calmer and there will often be sunny periods in the northwest of the country, while more clouds are expected in the southeast of the country. In High Belgium there may be a few showers, possibly with a thunderclap. The maxima are between 20 or 21 degrees at the sea and 27 degrees in the center. The wind will first blow weak to moderate from the west and later turn to the northwest.

Thursday Another wavy thunderstorm-like precipitation zone from France will cross our country. Based on current forecasts, most rain falls in the east and center of our country. Sometimes intense and prolonged rain is possible there, sometimes with a few thunderstorms. The chance of abundant precipitation is therefore greatest in these regions. The northwest of the country would be relatively spared. The maxima fluctuate between 20 and 23 degrees. There is a mostly moderate wind from initially north to northeast (or from variable directions) and then from north to northwest.

After dissolving the low cloud fields in the east, switch to the relief Friday wide clear skies with some cumulus clouds. It will remain dry in most regions, but very locally a shower cannot be ruled out. The maxima are between 19 or 20 degrees in the High Fens and 24 or 25 degrees in Low Belgium. The wind is blowing weak or moderate from the west to northwest.

Saturday it remains dry and often sunny with sometimes a few cloud fields in the east of the country. It is getting warmer again with maxima between 21 or 22 degrees at the sea and 27 or 28 degrees in the Kempen. The wind blows weakly from variable directions. At sea, a northern to northwesterly sea breeze develops in the afternoon.

Sunday it is sunny and warm with maxima of 25 degrees at the sea and in the Ardens relief up to 29 to 30 degrees in the Kempen. The wind is blowing weak to moderate from southerly directions. In the afternoon, cloud fields can form in the extreme west (while the wind shifts to the west). These cloud fields will move further east during the night and Monday morning. It would remain mainly dry, but a very local (thunderstorm-like) shower cannot be ruled out.

Monday and Tuesday it remains mainly dry and often sunny with sometimes a few cloud fields. It will be a few degrees less warm with maxima of 20 to 27 degrees. The wind often blows moderately from west-southwest to west-northwest directions.
