Struff wants to follow Zverev
After Daniel Altmaier was eliminated in the first round despite a strong performance in the five-set thriller against Felix Auger-Aliassime (4th on the seeding list) and Yannick Hanfmann against Hamad Medjedovic, only Zverev and Struff are still represented as German players in the field. Zverev appropriately moved into round three yesterday and Struff would like to follow him today.

Clay court favorites among each other
It is probably well known that Struff feels most comfortable on the red surface. He celebrated his only ATP tournament victory on clay two years ago in Munich, and the now 36-year-old reached the round of 16 twice in Roland Garros. But sand is also the favorite surface for his opponent. Faria celebrated his only two tournament victories on the Challenger Tour on clay in 2024.

Faria shocks Shapovalov
Struff’s opponent today, Jaime Faria, was also able to surprise in the first round. The 22-year-old Portuguese knocked the former top ten player Denis Shapovalov out of the tournament early on. Struff’s surprise in round one
Struff was drawn a challenging opponent in round one. However, the Warsteiner was able to play a close game against the current number ten in the world, Alexander Bublik. A hard-fought match was evenly matched after two sets before Struff took over and won set three 6:4 and set four 7:5.
