Goodbye!

We say goodbye to the premiere of Formula E in Indonesia. The racing series will continue in just under a month when the race in Marrakech is due. We will be there live again and wish you a nice Saturday!

10:56

German pilots knocked off

The trip to Indonesia was less successful for the German drivers. Only Pascal Wehrlein in eighth place scored points. André Lotterer slips back to eleventh place after his penalty and has no points. Maximilian Günther is also empty in eleventh place.

10:53

Third win of the season for Evans

Mitch Evans showed a clever race. He always stayed close to the leader, was able to strike in the final phase thanks to good energy management and also kept his nerve in the last laps when the rivals were able to put pressure on him again. It is the third win of the season for the New Zealander.

49

10:51

Mitch Evans takes the win!

It’s all over for Mitch Evans! The Jaguar driver brings his victory in Jakarta. Second is Jean-Eric Vergne ahead of Edoardo Mortara.

48

10:51

Last lap running

It’s going to the last round. Can Evans bring his win home or can Vergne and Mortara attack again?

47

10:50

Vergne puts pressure on

In the penultimate lap it’s really exciting again! Vergne gets to Evans and Mortara joins them from behind.

45

10:48

Vergne comes back

Jean-Eric Vergne still has a few chances to win. The Frenchman has been able to manage his energy better lately and is now very close to leader Evans again. Is there another attack?

43

10:48

Punishment for slackers

Shortly thereafter, the penalty was pronounced against André Lotterer. He gets a five-second penalty for colliding with Nyck de Vries.

41

10:45

Ongoing investigations

Race control is busy at the moment and there are some investigations into contact during overtaking manoeuvres. It’s about a situation between Dennis and Wehrlein, as well as between Lotterer and de Vries. He had come into the pits a few minutes ago with a flat foot. Certainly a result of this duel.

40

10:44

Mortara comes up

Does Jean-Eric Vergne have to look backwards now? Edo Mortara is now also getting closer and closer to the pole setter.

40

10:43

Change of leadership in Indonesia!

Mitch Evans makes short work of Jean-Eric Vergne! He moves inside next to his rivals and can then pass and directly open a small gap.

38

10:42

Enough for de Vries

Nyck de Vries comes into the pits and gives up his race prematurely. This means that only 20 of the 22 pilots are still in the race.

37

10:40 a.m

gap to third place

Vergne and Evans are close together at the front of the field, but behind them a small gap has opened towards Edoardo Mortara. For his part, he has a small lead over da Costa and Vandoorne.

35

10:38

It’s Evan’s turn

Mitch Evans sucked back into Vergne with his attack mode, but it wasn’t enough to attack the leader anymore. He now has to set it without attack mode.

34

10:36

Outperformed Nissan in the race

At Nissan, it just doesn’t add up in racing this season. Buemi actually had a good starting position, but couldn’t use it and dropped out of the points. He is currently 12th. Maximilian Günther is also only ranked 17th.

33

10:35

Mortara overtakes

Edoardo Mortara made up one position against da Costa and took third place. But is there any further progress? At the moment it looks as if he will have to be fobbed off with the fight for third place.

30

10:34

Evans positions himself

Jaguar is happy about a great move by Evans. He comes into the final attack mode, but does not lose any position. If he can move up front now he could put pressure on Vergne.

29

10:32

The view at the top

Jean-Eric Vergne can continue to hold his lead, but has not yet set himself apart. He is 0.6 seconds ahead of Evans. Third is da Costa, after Mortara had just driven through attack mode for the second time.

27

10:31

Wehrlein continues to fall behind

A little later, Pascal Wehrlein moves down another place in midfield. Jake Dennis also uses attack mode to overtake Wehrlein.

26

10:30 a.m

Vandoorne overtakes

Stoffel Vandoorne uses the fact that he has the attack mode a little longer and passes Pascal Wehrlein in the fight for fifth place.

23

10:27

Wehrlein makes up space

Since Stoffel Vandoorne goes into attack mode, Pascal Wehrlein initially gains one position. But can he say the same against the Belgian, who will have extra performance for longer?

22

10:26

Wehrlein’s fastest race lap

Pascal Wehrlein drove the new fastest race lap with a 1:09.926. From this season onwards there will also be a point for the World Championship for that. The Porsche driver is still in seventh place.

21

10:25

Vergne overtakes

Jean-Eric Vergne passes Mitch Evans in attack mode and is now back as the leader at the Indonesia premiere.

20

10:23

Enjoy second Attack Mode activation

Jean-Eric Vergne activates his attack mode for the second time and has to give up his lead first. Evans takes the lead in the race.

19

10:22

First attack mode for Mortara

Edoardo Mortara turns into the attack zone and activates his extra power for the first time in the race. This drops him a few positions which he will now try to catch up.

17

10:21

Where are the German drivers?

Pascal Wehrlein is currently in a good seventh place and has activated the attack mode once. André Lotterer is in ninth place. Maximilian Günther is currently only ranked 16th.

16

10:20

Vandoorne turns off

Stoffel Vandoorne really pushes into the Attack Mode loop and slips clearly after understeer. But he catches the car and stays in front of the two Porsche drivers.

14

10:18

Many in the top ten have activated

Many in the top ten have now activated attack mode for the first time. Only Mortara and Vandoorne have not completed the loop yet.

12

10:16

Vergne back in the lead

Jean-Eric Vergne has now taken the lead again, while Mitch Evans is now also activating attack mode. Second is Mortara, who has not yet been in attack mode.

11

10:14

Attack mode on at Vergne

The leader, Jean-Eric Vergne, is now also in attack mode, giving him four minutes of extra power. This puts Mitch Evans in the lead. António Félix da Costa also goes into attack mode.

9

10:11

More and more in attack mode

Now more and more riders are going out and activating Attack Mode for the first time in this race. Cassidy and Giovinazzi just turned off.

8th

10:10

Former attack mode at Frijns

Qualifying didn’t go as hoped for Robin Frijns and he has to start from far behind. That’s why he uses the attack mode very early on in order to maybe get ahead.

6

10:09 a.m

Race is extended

The safety car extends the race by 1:30 minutes.

5

10:09 a.m

Mitch Evans overtakes

Mitch Evans uses a da Costa brake and slips past the competitor to take second place.

4

10:08

restart done!

The route is open again and the restart takes place. Even now, Vergne and da Costa won’t let their top positions be taken away. Mitch Evans claims third place ahead of Mortara.

4

10:07

It’s already going on

The safety car comes into the pits again on this lap. The bolide was already behind the crash barrier and the bike was quickly put away.

3

10:06

The safety car is coming

The safety car is called onto the track by the race control and a loose wheel lies at the edge of the track. It appears to be from Rowland, but how the incident happened is not yet known. Rowland is now off the track.

2

10:05

Rowland walking slowly

Oliver Rowland is moving slowly. Has the race already ended for him?

1

10:05

Strong start from Wehrlein

Pascal Wehrlein didn’t go bad for the first few meters. The German has already moved up to eighth place in his Porsche and is ahead of his teammate Lotterer.

1

10:04

The race has started!

The lights are off, the race is on in Jakarta! Jean-Eric Vergne has a good start and can keep his lead. Behind them, Evans tries to attack da Costa but has to pull back.

10:03

It’s about to start

Now it won’t be long until the start of the race. The cars roll out of the provisional grid onto the starting grid.

09:57

The conditions

The race in Jakarta could be a big heated battle. The humidity is high, the track temperature is almost 30 degrees and the track temperature is 42 degrees. The sticking point will then also be how the temperature of the batteries and tires develops.

09:53

View of the World Cup stand

In the meantime, five drivers have been able to position themselves for the title in the world championship. The standings are led by Stoffel Vandoorne, who accumulated 111 points ahead of the day in Indonesia. Edoardo Mortara has 99 points to his credit. Jean-Eric Vergne is close behind with 98 points. Mitch Evans has 83 points, Robin Frijns has 81 points.

09:45

Lotter best German

André Lotterer missed the knockout phase of qualifying for the first time this season. He will start the race from eighth place today. Pascal Wehrlein made it into the quarter-finals, but received a penalty and had to start five places down. The reason was a repair to the DC voltage converter of the Porsche drive, which the team had checked after the Monaco failure. Maximilian Günther will start the race from 15th place.

09:37

15. Pole for Jean-Eric Vergne

A few hours ago, Jean-Eric Vergne was the strongest driver in qualifying. For the Frenchman, it will be the 15th time in his career that he will start the race from pole. With a time of 1:08.523 minutes, Vergne beat his teammate António Félix da Costa in the final duel of qualifying. Mitch Evans and Edoardo Mortara are in the second row. Behind then Jake Dennis and Sebastien Buemi. Stoffel Vandoorne finished seventh in qualifying.
