George Russell (49 points) is still fourth in the Mercedes, even though the team benefited from the bad luck of the competition. Sebastian Vettel is 14th with four points.

21:23

Ocon from the back

It’s also difficult for Esteban Ocon today. The Frenchman crashed into the wall in the third practice session and his chassis had to be swapped. Repairs that cost him his participation in qualifying and mean that he has to start from the back today. After all, due to the Aston Martin problem, two cars will now be directly behind him.

New info from Aston Martin

There is new information from Aston Martin. The team announces that they have a cold fuel problem. You are now trying to get the fuel to the minimum temperature before the race starts.

How much can be overtaken?

In the sessions so far it has become clear that the grip could be the sticking point. The asphalt surface is rough and even if the grip is now better on the ideal line, the level of grip off the racing line is still particularly low. A circumstance that could mean for the race that overtaking could be difficult. The role of a good pit strategy could be all the greater.

21:13

Aston Martin fuel problem

Lance Stroll explains to “Sky” why he has to start from the box. “We had a small fuel problem, I don’t know exactly why,” said Stroll. “We hope that we can start from the pit lane.” It can be assumed that Vettel has the same problem.

The Miami International Autodrome

Driving at the Miami International Autodrome this weekend! The street circuit goes around the hard rock stadium of the Miami Dolphins football team and impresses with high-speed sections and technical corners. A section next to the route also caused a stir. 21:06

Schumacher from 15th place

With Mick Schumacher, everything has been running smoothly before the start so far. The Haas youngster starts his race from position 15 and is one place ahead of teammate Kevin Magnussen. The goal should be the points again today.

Problems at Aston Martin

Aston Martin seems to be having problems just before the race. Sebastian Vettel would actually start from 13th place, but when the pit lane closes, both Vettel’s car and Lance Stroll’s car are still in their pits. There is no information from the team on this yet. But it is already clear that if they do, they will have to start the race from the pit lane.

20:57

Ex-teammates in row three

In the third starting row there is a well-known picture from the last few years. Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton will start the race from positions five and six. The only difference: Valtteri Bottas is now driving for Alfa Romeo and so far with good results, while his old employer Mercedes is struggling with problems. George Russell is in twelfth place in the second Silver Arrow.

20:47
