      The route

      At 4.309 kilometers, the Autódromo José Carlos Pace is the fourth shortest track in the F1 calendar. Interlagos is 800 meters above sea level, making it the second highest route of the season after Mexico City. The many changes in altitude are characteristic of the route.

      Hülkenberg from twelfth place

      For Nico Hülkenberg, the sprint today starts from twelfth place. Immediately in front of him is his teammate Kevin Magnussen, who was eleventh. Aston Martin was unable to confirm their good result from yesterday’s qualifying. In addition to Alonso, who was unable to drive after his crash in Q2, Lance Stroll is also far back on the starting grid in 17th place. AlphaTauri showed great improvement and, after failing in Q1 on Friday, both drivers made it into the top ten today.

      Crash between Alonso and Ocon

      The big excitement of the shootout occurred right in Q1. Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon collided in the final minute of the period. Alonso, for his part, was on his way to the pits and traveling slowly when Esteban Ocon came from behind, who was on his flying lap and caught Alonso swerving towards the racing line. Ocon touched Alonso’s left front wheel with his right rear wheel and then flew off into the tire wall. The race management did not impose a penalty for the incident.

      The pole position for today’s sprint was secured by Lando Norris in the McLaren in the shootout a few hours ago. After the Briton was disappointed with his performance yesterday, he was able to do better today and prevailed over Max Verstappen in a close exchange. Sergio Pérez was able to convince with used tires and third place on the grid. Next to him on the second row of the grid is George Russell.
