How far are female livestreamers allowed to go in terms of clothing? It is the question that has occupied users of the video platform Twitch since the rules were briefly relaxed. Some ladies pushed the limits of what was acceptable and experimented with black bars over their private parts.
The ball started rolling when OnlyFans model Morgpie apparently sat topless in front of the camera on December 8. The image stopped just above the nipples, yet her account was banned. According to the platform’s rules, a bosom may only be shown when breastfeeding.
However, a week ago there was a remarkable change of course. Sexually suggestive content would now be allowed, Twitch said. In other words, the focus was allowed to be on breasts and buttocks, provided that nipples and genitals themselves were not explicitly shown. Body painting and sexualized cartoons were also allowed under the heading ‘artistic nudity’. As the icing on the cake, Morgpie’s profile was restored.

That’s all users needed to unleash their creativity. Animated images of naked girls flooded the platform, while OnlyFans model Firedancer gave the impression of sitting on her chair with bare breasts. When the black bar suddenly disappeared, it turned out that she was indeed wearing a bra.
Her sexy performance was viewed 100,000 times in one day. “Hilarious and at the same time shocking what such a censorship bar can do to your imagination,” she responded afterwards. Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa took it one step further by crafting her own censorship bar.
Twitch was originally intended primarily as a platform to watch gamers work live. The original users view this evolution with dismay. “Twitch has to make a clear choice: either cam girls are welcome in a separate adult section, or this soft porn will end,” said one of the comments on Reddit.
Twitch had no choice but to reverse the decision. “Some streamers showed content that violates our policies. We have gone too far with this change,” was the mea culpa.
