Shops closed and pressed on roads during day off in a large part of Europe: here it is certain
The Netherlands
In our country it will be busy on the road in the coming days. This bustle is mainly caused by roadworks, events and border controls. Parts of the A5, A10, A12 and A27 are closed. It is expected that it will also be busy when the Lowlands festival comes to an end.
In France, according to the expectations of the ANWB, it will be busy on the road on Saturday, due to both departing and recurring holiday traffic. The biggest crowds are expected between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The traffic jams will arise around Paris, between Lyon and Marseille on the A7, on the A9 from Orange to the Spanish border, the A10 towards Bordeaux, the A13 to Normandy and the A71/A75 From Vierzon via Clermont-Ferrand to Béziers.
In Germany, recurring holiday traffic will mainly provide traffic jams. The crowds are mainly expected south of Munich and in the north around Hamburg and Bremen. A lot of delays is also caused because no fewer than 1250 places on the highway work in our neighboring country.
In Austria, the bottlenecks will be found this weekend on the A10 between Salzburg and Villach, the A11 at the Karawanktunnel, the A12 from Kufstein to Innsbruck, the A13 towards the Brennerpas and the B179 from Füssen to Nassereith.
As usual, a large file is expected at the Gotthard tunnel in both directions. It is also probably busy on the A2 between Basel and Chiasso. And on the A13 between Chur and Bellinzona it is mainly busy with the San Bernardinotunnel.
Italy
For many Italians, Maria-Hemelvaart is the start of the summer holidays. Many stores are closed, but many Italians will also leave for another place. There the crowds is expected on the A14 between Bologna and Rimini, and the A22 from the Brennerpas to Verona.
