Live Premier League matches will continue to be shown on ESPN | until mid-2030 Dutch football

The live matches in the Premier League will continue to be shown on ESPN until mid-2030. The Eredivisie CV announced this on Tuesday afternoon. The Eredivisie CV and the eighteen Eredivisie clubs unanimously decided on the deal. The new agreement also applies to the Kitchen Champion Division, the Women’s Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup.

ESPN – and parent company Disney – competed this year against a proposal from four cable companies (Ziggo, Delta, KPN and T-Mobile), but the TV channel still won the new agreement. The Eredivisie CV recently reached an agreement with the sounding board group – Ajax, AZ, Feyenoord, PSV, RKC Waalwijk and Vitesse.

The new agreement, for which ESPN reportedly pays around 1.7 billion euros, will take effect in 2025. ESPN initially wanted to pay that amount for a period of ten years, but that time period has now been halved.

ESPN is pleased with the new deal. “We are pleased that the clubs have unanimously expressed their confidence in the cooperation we have with each other. With ESPN, we would like to remain the connecting factor for football-loving Netherlands, by bringing all Dutch club football to people’s homes.”
