A first preliminary hearing will take place at the court in Zwolle on Thursday. YOU. did not appear at the hearing. He turned himself in to the police in Deventer a few hours after the shooting and has been detained ever since. There he confessed that he had been the shooter.
On the day in question, Ü. an appointment with the two brothers. After they had been talking for a while, Ü calculated. at one point, walked back to the table and then opened fire. He fired eleven rounds. “Extremely effective,” said the public prosecutor – all bullets hit their target. Both victims died on the spot.
At the time of the shooting, the fast food restaurant, located on Floresstraat in Zwolle-Noord, was busy. Among the eyewitnesses were many children. One of the victims died instantly, for the other an attempt at resuscitation was to no avail.

The deadly violence took place on March 30, around 6 p.m. The suspect, Veysel Ü., fled but reported to a police station in Deventer that same evening, whereupon he was arrested. YOU. will not be present at the hearing on Thursday.
Various media have reported that Ü., who comes from Rozendaal in Gelderland, would have had a high-profile conflict about a money debt with the two brothers.
Four rooms have been reserved for Thursday’s session. In addition to great interest from the press, the court is counting on the arrival of many relatives of the two victims.
