The agreed pause in fighting in the Gaza Strip started on Friday morning. Hamas subsequently released thirteen Israeli hostages as well as ten Thai hostages and one Filipino. Israel released 39 Palestinian prisoners in exchange that evening. These are the first releases as part of the prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel.
