Hamas on Sunday reported “heavy fighting” underway between Hamas fighters and Israeli soldiers in the north of the Gaza Strip. “Our fighters are currently engaged in heavy fighting with machine guns and anti-tank weapons,” said the Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military arm. The Israeli army has reiterated its calls for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to evacuate south, away from the heart of the war against Hamas, adding that they are now “urgent”.
