The 52-year-old man from Heerenveen, who as a mascot encouraged the players for 22 seasons and excited the supporters in the Abe Lenstra stadium, will face the subdistrict on Monday morning to challenge his dismissal. He wants to go back to work.
The man was active for sports club Heerenveen for 26 years. In 2009 he joined the club as a maintenance worker. He was the longest-serving mascot in professional football. The 52-year-old man has been inactive since February of this year.
