French weather service warns: fire hazard by extreme heat in the Vaucluse region, access to nature parks

The French weather service Météo-France has issued a warning for fire hazard in particular the Vaucluse region. There the temperatures can rise locally to around 41 degrees. The authorities have therefore limited access to nature parks. The Mont Ventoux, the mountain where the riders still finished the last Tour de France, remains open to the public.

From the Pyrénées-Atlantiques to the Jura and from the Charente-Maritime to the Alpes Maritimes, the Orange Code in connection with the heat wave applies in 46 departments. “On Sunday, the heat in the south, in line with the previous days, will go a little higher,” the National Weather Service already warned on Saturday.

The thermometer will regularly rise to 40 ° C and even above 40 ° C in the Hérault, VAR departments and the south of the Departments Ardèche and Drôme.
At the hottest moment of the day, 42 ° C is also expected in Nimes and 40 ° C in Perpignan, with peaks of 38 ° C in Bordeaux and Toulouse in the afternoon.
