2-0 GOAL by Raúl Jiménez!
There is the liberating second goal for Mexico. An excellent cross lands on the head of Raúl Jiménez, who knows what to do with this opportunity. He simply nods in and doubles Mexico’s lead. The tears flow immediately at the rush hourwho is immediately jumped on by his teammates. Jiménez can take a moment to catch his breath; the drinking break is taken immediately.

Álvaro Fidalgo is replaced by Gilberto Mora
The youngest player of this World Cup comes in line. Gilberto Mora should become the next Mexican star. The 17 year old turns serenaded directly by the fans present.
Brian Gutiérrez is replaced by Luis Chávez
Theater
A bit of theater now in South Africa. Quiñones reaches too high with his leg, but does not hit his opponent. Still decide Mudau to take the opportunity and go to the ground.
Jayden Adams is replaced by Themba Zwane
Mexico insists
Mexico is increasing the pressure considerably and South Africa continues to succumb to it. Nevertheless, great opportunities remain absent for the time beingalthough it doesn’t seem to be long before Mexico scores another goal. South Africa continues where it left off: building up from behind and then shooting the ball forward as quickly as possible when the pressure becomes too much.
Mexican goalkeeper makes things difficult for himself
Rangel lets the ball slip through his fingers, but Mexico can breathe a sigh of relief. Modiba gives it a try from a great distancetesting the goalkeeper. It seemed to be an easy ball to catch.
Lyle Foster is replaced by Thalente Mbatha
Red card for Yaya Sithole
It wasn’t his match, but things could get worse for Yaya Sithole. The midfielder who led the way to 1-0 must now be sent off with a red card. Brian Gutiérrez is put on the goalkeeper alone, causing Sithole to pull the emergency brake. A justified red card for the South Africa player.
Attempt from long distance
Julián Quiñones is brimming with confidence and it shows. The attacker tries it from forty meters, but does not surprise the South Africa goalkeeper. Quiñones had a world goal in mind.
Mexico doesn’t unwrap a present
South Africa is not learning from its mistakes. Mexico gets another chance half a minute after the break due to mistakes in the build-up. Mexico is going though careless with that opportunity.
Second half about to start
South Africa is already ready to resume the match. The Mexico players talk a bit in the catacombs before they enter the field again.
End of first half
It is calm in the Aztec Stadium. Mexico is a lot stronger than South Africa, which actually has nothing to complain about. However, the host country forgets to push throughwhile Aguirre’s team always creates opportunities when the game is sped up a bit. The question is whether South Africa can show something different in the second half.
The only goal was scored by Julian Quiñones. The attacker has had an excellent season in Saudi Arabia. With 33 goals he was the top scorer of the Saudi Pro League. Still five goals more than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mexico is once again not rewarding itself
A little moment of vperplexity Brian Gutierrez. The midfielder is offered a nice opportunity, but on the At the supreme moment he doesn’t know whether to shoot or pass. It delivers a very weak roller on the one that goes next.
Schotje South Africa
An attempt by South Africa. Mbekezeli Mbokazi tries to test the keeper, but his shot is one easy prey for the Mexico goalkeeper.
Opportunities Mexico
It was borderline offside, but Raúl Jiménez tries to score the 2-0 against the ropes with a clever ball. That fails, because again it sits Ronwen Williams in between. South Africa doesn’t have long to catch their breath, since Julián Quiñones hits the post with a placed shot. South Africa swoons in the closing stages of the first half.

Chance Mexico
Two Mexico players were ready to tap the ball into an empty goal, but… goalkeeper Williams puts a stop to that. He clips a low cross from Gallardo, who had plenty of room on the left side of the penalty area to pick out a teammate.
The drinks break is over, so the match has now resumed. South Africa is growing a bit more in the competition, but has not yet the punching power to actually create opportunities.
Drink break
There will be a mandatory drinking break during every match at this World Cup. This lasts exactly three minutes. There will also be a drinks break in the second half.
