Live Eredivisie: Vitesse ahead against PEC Zwolle | Football

Vitesse – PEC Zwolle

PEC Zwolle will have one last chance from 6.45 pm to enter 2022 with slightly more perspective than is currently the case. The last one is exactly halfway through the competition six points behind number 17 Sparta and already nine on the ‘safe’ RKC Waalwijk. Dick Schreuder’s formation will have to achieve a result at Vitesse, which can look back on an excellent 2021. The most recent boost is the message that the team will definitively winter in the Conference League. Nevertheless, the team from Arnhem will want to wash away the hangover from last Saturday, when a victory at Sparta was lost in injury time.

AZ – FC Groningen

If Vitesse does not beat PEC Zwolle, AZ can pass the Arnhem team in the ranking. Pascal Jansen’s team must then win against FC Groningen, and that is not yet a certainty. Last season, the Alkmaarders lost 1-2 to the visitors on Jansen’s debut. If the formation of Danny Buijs manages to copy that piece of art, the team settles firmly in the middle bracket. From there, in 2022, the focus should be on the places that entitle the play-offs for European football. The kick-off in Alkmaar is at 9 p.m.
