Nvidia and Amazon keep winning

The Dow Jones and the Nasdaq index are 0.1 and 0.9 percent higher respectively after a few minutes of trading. Nvidia increases by 2.9 percent, after having exceeded 200 dollars for the first time last week and a total stock market value of 5 trillion. Microsoft (+1.1 percent) has received permission from the US government to supply Nvidia chips to the United Arab Emirates. Amazon gains another 5 percent, in response to inking a seven-year, $38 billion deal with OpenAI. The companies have agreed that the owner of ChatGPT can use computing power from Amazon’s cloud division. The online shopping giant and cloud services provider shot up 9.6 percent on Friday on much better than expected quarterly figures. Kimberly Clark drops 12.6 percent in response to a takeover bid Kenvue of almost $49 billion. The former consumer health branch of Johnson & Johnson actually gains 15.4 percent. Tesla loses 0.2 percent. Shareholders will decide on Thursday about Elon Musk’s excessive remuneration package. If the car manufacturer reaches a stock market value of 8.5 trillion, the CEO will receive 1 trillion. The AEX is 0.2 percent higher at 973.2 points.
